How do i get my ex back while hes single? QUICK!?

Well, I really like this boy named Tim. We dated for about a month and a little bit longer. We broke up about 4 days before our 2 month anniversary. BUT, we talked like we were dating before we were officially dating. A few days after we broke up, he dated another girl. They are always on and off, and right now they just broke up again. We always text each other and I still like him. I just can't tell him. In fact, we are texting right now. I don't want to tell him, because if he does not feel the same way its going to be awkward and he might even cut all communication off with me witch i do not want. I want him back but like I said, I do not want to tell him. I think he likes me too, because I was like "Your a little player lol" but I was just kidding, and he said "I bet I wont have a girlfriend for the rest of the summer" and then I said "Yeah you will" and he said "Okay and guess who its going to be ;)" and he just flirts with me alot. How do I make him confess he likes me without me telling him I like him first?
