So how do I talk to him more?

Well there is this guy I am starting to like, Matt. We are in the ninth grade and have completely separate friend groups....he hangs with all the white people and I hang with all the black people (we are both white). We just started talking and I think he is really cute in a dorky way. BTW, I am absolutely in love with his eyes. I feel like he won't really go for me because I am not the stick white girls he hags around and I have two classes with him, spanish and biology in which we are really close together in the seating chart. I am usually not attracted to white guys but I really am starting to like him so how do I approach the situation?
